I broke the kids up into groups of two and they developed a poster for the hydrologic cycle emphasizing the four key concepts: precipitation, transpiration, condensation, and evaporation. They will be displayed for the Open House on Tuesday and there will be open voting for the best poster. I hope to see you all there! We then delved into Module #6 and completed a lab on electromagnets!

Atomic numbers & meiosis
MIDDLE SCHOOL
We enjoyed a great time digging into the periodic table of elements and learning to discern the composition of an atom. We were able to look at the table and determine number of protons, neutrons and electrons. The importance of this lies in the correlation of how water is covalent and polar. We were able to determine by the makeup of a water molecule why they behave the way they do.
HOMEWORK:
Mon. Complete the element pun page (worksheet handed out in class) and the Atomic Structure worksheet (also worksheet handed out in class pg 11)
Tues. Complete Exp. 4.5 pg. 97. Write up your results and give me a two sentence summary of what happened.
Wed. Read pgs. 105-113 Complete On Your Owns pg. 113 5.1-5.4
Thurs. Complete Exp. 5.1 pg. 110. Write up your results and give me a two sentence summary of what happened
