Sounds like a couple of exciting classes!! Thankfully the Lord kept us safe with the matches and learning about the endoplasmic reticulum (E.R.).
PHYSICAL SCIENCE:
HOMEWORK:
Mon/Tues. - The great DEBATE!! I would like us to debate the positives and negatives of imposed environmental regulations. (pg. 49 of the text)
Guys- research and take the side of: The negative effect of imposed regulations to reduce pollution. (increased traffic fatalities, cost)
Girls- research and take the side of: The positive effect of imposed regulations to reduce pollution. (health concerns, cleaner air)
Basically my desire is to have a brief debate between the guys and gals. I would like each student to research independently the side I have given them. Come up with some good statistics. Write your research out (a couple of paragraphs with some great facts should be sufficient). You will be able to use these during the debate and then will turn them in for homework. There will be a prize for the winners of the debate. Think critically. There is a lot of false information out there. http://blog.drwile.com this is Dr. Wile's blog I would go here for some sound information.
Wed. - finish the crossword puzzle from Module 3
Thurs.- Read pgs. 57-65. Complete pg. 79 Study Guide #1 a-i
BIOLOGY:
Mon./Tues. - Complete the cell worksheets handed out in class. (both of them)
Wed./Thur. - Creativity Contest!!!
You are to create an animal cell (pg.170) using whatever means you feel is creative. (You may draw if you cannot think of anything creative but please use color). Please label these or use some kind of key to identify them and define the function of each organelle within the cell that you have labeled. Have fun with these and use some imagination!! Looking forward to seeing your grand creations on Friday!!
Is this for the middle schoolers or the high schoolers?

On page 25 question three, what are the special structures?
ReplyDeleteRosi
Rachael, the Physical Science (on top) is us middle schoolers...
ReplyDeleteKatherine
Sorry guys the top Physical Science is Middle School and the bottom Biology is for High School. Thanks Katherine!!
ReplyDeleteRosi- The ones you listed in question #2 they are asking you to tell what they do. The ones specifically in the plant cell.
what do you mean, create a cell? do we have to name the parts things that actually exist?
ReplyDeletea curios person
What definitions did I forget?
ReplyDelete-Jacob
is there any on your own Questions for us this week?
ReplyDeleteTom
Curios(curious) person - I would like you to create an animal cell by a creative means. Example using dry pasta noodles and bean to symbolize the organelles within the cell or using jello as a base for the cell and adding different items to symbolize the organelles. If you cannot think of anything creative simply draw the cell and label and define the function of the organelles.
ReplyDeleteJacob- what definitions are you referring to?
Tom-no on your own questions for this wee.
Mrs. Tyler
Are we supposed to do all the organelles in the animal cell?
ReplyDeleteRosi
Rosi-Yes!!
