matchbox cars

Hey Guys!

Hope you are having a great cool week. Fall has definitely arrived.

Bring a matchbox type of car to class on Friday (if you have one). DO NOT GO OUT AND PURCHASE ONE!!!!!

We will be testing the speed and force of one of these. Calculators are also a great idea!!!!

Remember the wonderful quiz-formulas speed velocity and acceleration. Also be familiar with metric units of measure vs. english units of measure.

See you tomorrow-
Mrs. Tyler

  1. Hi Mrs. Tyler,
Sorry Ben missed class Friday; he was sick Thurs night and we thought it best to keep him home.
Hope you will be posting homework soon; since Ben was not there to bring anything home, we have no idea what to do for the week. If you are able to email any worksheets, that would be great. Thanks!

  2. Sorry to hear Ben is sick. Hope he is up to his normal self soon:) Have Ben complete the research for the 1st 1/2 of Lord Kelvin's life and an example of inertia. I will give him the worksheet in class on Friday. We also completed a lab in class on Friday which I believe would be good reinforcement for Ben. We calculated the speed of a matchbox car. Simply take a car run it down a ramp, time how long it goes (in seconds) measure the distance (in centimeters) and calulate speed (distance divided by time). Units would be cm/sec. Do not worry about this if it sounds to confusing. Hope to see you Friday
