What does the size of a football field have to do with an electron cloud?

HOMEWORK

Monday: worksheet page 43

Tuesday: Display sample or pictures of 5 elements of your choice. You may display them on paper or poster board whichever you prefer. Include the name, symbol, atomic number, atomic mass, and use for each element.

Wednesday: worksheet page 42

Thursday: Draw a Bohr model (we did these in class with the construction paper and JUJUBES) of Aluminum and Fluorine.

Recap of class:
This week we introduced the Periodic Table of the Elements. We discussed the basic unit of each element the ATOM. We discussed the composition of the atom (proton, neutron, and electron) and the models of the atom. We then attempted to build models of atoms out of construction paper and JUJUBES using the atomic number of the atom. It was exciting as light bulbs slowly went on as we were doing this activity. Enjoy the study of ELEMENTS. It is amazing to think how intricate everything is that the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad!!
